During his seven years at the Federal Trade Commission and since entering consulting in 1993, Steve Stockum has
analyzed competition in a wide range of industries. He specializes in antitrust analysis, including mergers, monopolization, and price fixing.
In addition, he has given testimony on industry regulation, deceptive advertising, and damages. He has made presentations and submitted
testimony to the F.T.C., the Department of Justice, the F.C.C., the F.D.A., federal district court, federal administrative court, state courts,
and a state regulatory bureau. Steve’s industry expertise includes such industries as packaged food products, nutritional supplements, radio
and television broadcasting, pharmaceuticals, health care, paper products, retail and wholesale distribution, oil and gas services and transportation,
and pet foods.
Before joining Economists Inc., Steve was a partner at Glassman-Oliver Economic Consultants. Prior to that, he worked at the
Federal Trade Commission as a staff economist, economic advisor to the Director of the Bureau of Competition, and economic
advisor to a Commissioner.
Steve has published several articles on antitrust topics, including market definition, unilateral effects, and the efficiencies defense.
He has taught courses in microeconomics, industrial organization, and law & economics at the University of Pennsylvania. |
