Sudip Gupta is a faculty in the finance area at the Gabelli School of Business of Fordham University, New York. He had previously held faculty positions in the finance area and taught at the Kelley School of Business: Indiana University, Stern School of Business: New York University and Smith School of Business: University of Maryland. He also served as a resident faculty at the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad.

His research and consulting areas include auctions, financial derivatives, industrial organization, IPOs, M&A and risk management.  He has co-authored multiple papers on auctions, corporate finance, credit default swaps (CDS) settlement mechanisms, IPOs, sovereign CDS, treasury auctions. He has presented his research worldwide at various economics and finance conferences worldwide including the American Finance Association, Econometric Society, and Financial Management Association etc. and at finance and economics departments of various universities.

He has served as a consulting expert to various international organizations and regulatory authorities in various antitrust and financial litigations. His consulting areas and expertise include bid rigging, class action financial litigations, damages, market design, merger simulations etc.

He has taught worldwide in the areas of behavioral finance, corporate finance, financial econometrics, international finance and investments and security analysis etc.

He has a Ph.D. in economics from University of Wisconsin, Madison specializing in empirical industrial organization and econometrics. He was previously educated at the Indian Statistical Institute and Delhi School of Economics.
