Dr. Myslinski has been active in competition policy and regulation for over thirty years. Dr. Myslinski served six and a half years in the public sector at the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. While there he rose from staff economist to Acting Director of the Division’s Economic Policy Office. In 1981, he co-founded Economists Incorporated and currently serves on its Board of Directors.

Dr. Myslinski has provided competition analysis and advice on numerous mergers involving leading global companies. Dr. Myslinski has frequently assisted companies and their counsel in appearances at both the Antitrust Division and the Federal Trade Commission.

Dr. Myslinski has been called as an expert witness on a number of occasions. He has testified regarding mergers and acquisitions, monopolization, vertical restraints, class certification, and economic damages in complex commercial litigation. Among the many industries which he has analyzed are beer, wine and soft drink distribution, oil field services, credit cards, software, heavy construction equipment, grocery products, greeting cards, casinos, agricultural products, aerospace products, chemicals, motorsports, pharmaceuticals, sporting goods, restaurants and restaurant franchising.

Notable cases in which Dr. Myslinski has provided expert testimony include: Gearhart Industries Inc., et al. v. Smith International, Inc. (1984) [worldwide geographic market]; State of New York By, Robert Abrams, Attorney General v. Anheuser-Busch, Inc., et al. (1992) [exclusive distribution territories]; In Re:  Baby Food Litigation (1996) [summary judgment for price fixing defendants]; Frederick L. Sample, et al., v. Monsanto Company, et al. (2002-3)[class cert. denied]; and American Seed Co., Inc. v. Monsanto Company (2006)[class cert. denied].

Dr. Myslinski was awarded his undergraduate degree in economics from Boston College and his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Minnesota. He has taught economics at the University of Minnesota, Saint Olaf College and Colgate University. In addition, he served as an instructor and director of Colgate University’s Public Policy Program in Washington, DC.
